Mr. Sean Finnegan of Richmond, VA caught our boat record Spadefish at the Chesapeake Light Tower on 6-21-07.  It weighed in at 9 pounds 12 ounces.  What a "whoppa"!

Proof that there are fishing gods aboard the Jil Carrie who smile down upon us - especially for Mr. Tim Matthew (who organized this trip on 5/12/07 for his Mom and family and for his Mother's Happy Mother's Day present) - here's his mother, and she catches the biggest Flounder AND a VA Weight Citation - 26.25" and 7 pounds 13 ounces ON HER FIRST EVER FISHING TRIP THE DAY BEFORE MOTHER'S DAY - WOO HOO! Oh yeah -and check out the two fellas behind her (her brother on right and Mr. Tim Matthew, her son, on left) - "can you believe she caught THAT fish on us"?  OH, that's so schweet!   Ms. Janet Belt - Welcome to the Chesapeake Bay!

Hello Jim,

Here are 4 pictures of last Fridays fishing with Elks!  Thanks,
Scott & Ruth Ann Bates

Capt Jim,

Here are the pics from yesterday.  The crew from left to right is: Jennifer Hunt, Tim Zaloudek (owes me $1), Chris "Quick Learner" Arthur, Paul Dix (my stepdad), Victoria Barron, and myself....with TJ "Deadliest Catch" Reiber in the background.  Thanks again for a wonderful trip.  Everyone had a good time and agreed the drive was worth it.  No big fish this trip, but we'll get 'em next time, and I never complain about leaving the boat with our limit...which you've always managed to produce. See ya in VA Beach this summer with some of this crew I'm sure.....Dave Ryker

Happy Easter 2005 from the Brincefield family to yours.  Our Saviour Jesus Christ has Risen!

Another Jil Carrie World Record

I just got back in from the Atlantic Ocean late this evening and I'm so excited with this red hot info - I had to post the great news, even at this late hour to share with all of you - the most incredible thing happened today on our fishing trip! A group came out fishing with us today and one of their members - Mr. Rodney "Tony" King of Woodbridge, VA just beat our 3 week young IGFA World Record All Tackle Blueline Tilefish Record by a whopping 10 ounces! I'm so proud to tell you that our new "Jil Carrie" and World Record mark is now 15 pounds 14 ounces. To put this all in perspective, I've been fishing all of my life and have never even seen an All Tackle IGFA World Record. The last three weeks has produced 2! I now believe the sky is the limit with this new exciting fishery for Blueline Tilefish. Man, I've sure gotten so spoiled with the fishing here in VA Beach over the last 4 years! I have to thank my mentor, Capt. Steve "The Professor" Wray of Long Bay Pointe Bait & Tackle for teaching me about this vibrant fishery and believing in me - a "big foreheaded waterman from Deale, Maryland". I came here 4 years ago, he
took me under his wing with a smile, and gave me a whole world of teaching. Well, his "pupil" is about the giddiest fisherman on the planet right now. Mucho mega "Jil Carrie" congratulations to the angler - Mr. Rodney "Tony" King and also thank you so very much - "Professor". Both of you have made me the happiest fisherman on the planet! I'm gonna get the pictures up tonight, so stand by!!!!

Today, on 12/18/04 we celebrated our son's 7th birthday.  Jil and I are so blessed with two great children, sometimes I have to pinch myself and see if this is all real!  Here's a picture of the whole gang at the party on our back deck at our home in Deale, MD.  Jil and I are so proud of both Jimmy and Sarah!

An awesome action shot of grizzled veteran 1st Mate Capt. Karl Bieberich dutifully manning his post the morning of 10/23/04. Capt. Here is a rear view picture of the "Jil Carrie" on Thursday, October 21, 2004 just prior to launching.  Boat Carpenter Bunny Joyce is working on the roof and Brian is in the cabin door figuring out what the heck I'm doing???

Here is a collage of 6 pictures of a double 180 degree rainbow arched over the "Jil Carrie".  I photographed it from the "Jil Carrie" berthed in our slip at the "Happy Harbor" wharf in Deale on 10/16/04.  This is only the second time in my life that I have ever witnessed a double 180 degree rainbow.  The first time was over Poplar Island and Tilghman Island on the eastern shore last year. Now, if I could just find that pot of gold...

"Jil Carrie" 1st Mate Zach Stauffer (fresh off a grueling schedule of 25 days off work) diligently tending to the customers' every need...constantly scanning the horizon for potential hazards, and showing why he is much the superior 1st Mate to Capt. Karl - 10/14/04...

Brothers David and John Lyle win 2004 MSSA Tournament!  Here is the e-mail and picture I received from John:

On 4/16/04 we started out going North to Cove Point, I asked David to try putting a green Daisy chain
with a 9" shad on the rod from hell 32 bars I told David and Buddy Whetzel that before they got all the
lines out we were going to have a fish. Bam it hit on the rod from hell and, David pulled it in, 44". We
new it was the winning fish, when Buddy pulls out a BANANA. I was thinking of using him as a chum
slick. All told the fish won everything - $33,185. I want to thank the MSSA, JERRY NORTON of HOLY
MACKEREL TACKLE FOR SELLING ME THAT DAISY CHAIN and for all his advice and tips. Most of all
Capt. JIM you were the one that taught us the right way to fish and spank the hell out of them.
Thanks John Lyle

We caught the first Bluefish of the year today - Friday, 5/28/04 aboard the Jil Carrie - skippered by Capt. Jim Brincefield. These toothy critters have taken on a legend of the likes of  The Swallows of Mission San Juan Capistano which arrive every March 19th, St. Joseph's Day.  It seems the Bluefish always show up in our part of The Bay on Memorial Day weekend!  The Bluefish are a welcome addition to our chum lines as they provide good light tackle sport fishing for our customers.  This 1st 2004 Snapper gnashed a cut Bunker offering.

The McLain family went to Gran Margy's for Christmas. Then Jessica and Margaret and Dear Old Dad went FISHING! Since the big trophy stripers left Reedville by mid December, we went with Jim Brincfield who had dcided to "go south 'til I find the fish!"  The girls got a workout. We had lines in the water before sunrise and pulled them in after sunset. The fish Jessica is holding was the biggest of the day weighing 35 pounds and measuring 43 inches. I only got one picture because she was obviously having some difficulty holding the monster up!
